Hi, I’m Shalini Srinivasan, artist & teacher behind Turtle Learning.

I created Turtle Learning as a way to share what I learn about life and art. ‘Turtle’ reflects how I move through life - simple, quiet and mindful steps.

What began as a passion for art has evolved into something more. I’m proud of where I come from, where I’ve been and excited to share what I continue to learn everyday. What sets me apart isn’t just my process, it’s the intention behind it. I like taking my time to understand, explore and create through curiosity and spiritual intuition.

My love of colour comes from my Indian heritage and I’m especially drawn to exploring cultural symbols and connections from my homeland. When I paint, I look at colour and organic form, what they symbolise and how they can be interpreted to convey a certain emotion or spiritual connection.

Living in the Mallee region of Victoria in Australia, surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and rugged landscapes has brought me closer to nature. My paintings combine the spiritual and the natural to explore how we can co-exist through peace and compassion.

My medium of choice is watercolours. I love the transparency of this medium which brings a delicate impermanence to everything I paint. To support my passion for art, I completed my Undergraduate Certificate in Fine Art at Curtin University in 2025 which further fuelled the creation of Turtle Learning.

I find painting to be very restorative and meditative. It has helped me rejuvenate my inner light and connect with a deeper silence. I want to share that process and help others find their own inner stillness.
